Day 192 - Sis

I remember as a child these were a penny a piece and now they are 15 cents each. They bring back a memory of a lady in my childhood neighborhood. Mrs.Reese and her mother, who we called Grandma, had turned her garage into a little store where she sold candy and few other items. We would search and find empty soda bottles to cash in at the larger stores. Sometimes we each got a nickel and we would hurry to splurge it on our visit to her place. As soon as you walked in you were standing in front of a glass case filled with a variety of candies, some were even two for a penny. It was a glorious sight for us kids and time consuming for her as we made our choices. Wonderful times.

  1. We had a little market down the street from a house we lived in when we were still living in Indiana called Riley's & they had penny & nickel candy. My mom used to give me $1 every month just for penny candy & I had to make that bag of candy last all month! LOL!
