Made salsa for snacking tomorrow, maybe it will make the day seem more livelier than today!
My mom (Sis) and I (Lisa) have challenged ourselves to each take a picture a day in 2010 starting January 4th. We will write journal style what inspires us to take the shots we do each day; along with anything else on our minds throughout the year. We are recently relocated from Northern California to the Atlanta, GA area. We hope you find our project interesting and maybe a bit entertaining. ;>

Day 207 - Sis
Looks like season has begun. This week I have knocked out a bug a day. What a difference a year makes. Last year if I saw a bug it was, ewwww, now I just grab the spray and tell it goodbye!

Day 206 - Sis
Went in for routine visit and blood tests. The tech needed to fill three vials, no problem but since I have small veins,(yeah,on me finally something small),there was a problem with the first draw. Not painful, but after the vial was filled it kind of looked like the BP oil spill bubbles coming out of the arm. This meant the tech had to go to my forearm for the next two and that was fine. I walked out of the lab with two bandage strips, made me feel like an Army corporal.:-)

Day 205 - Sis
See, I think Lisa needs to buy her cat another food dish. One that has food painted on the bottom so when the dish bottom isn't completely covered, she won't know and will quit bugging me for more!

Day 204 - Sis
First visit to the library here resulted in this choice. Picked it up Wednesday and read it by Friday. Couldn't wait to read it now I can't wait to take it back. Hoping my next choice is a little more interesting.

Day 201 - Lisa
Poor Hector Pasquel (HP), he's really sick and I'm afraid I'm going to have to replace him. You were a hard working, loyal friend for 5 years. ;>
Day 201 - Sis
Death at our door. Sunii was running from window to window and we couldn't see what was agitating her. Looks like a feral cat may have hunting and left the moth where it died.

Day 200 - Lisa
Three little girls I know will soon be receiving these. Maybe they'll be the next Bob Dylan, Paul Butterfield or James Cotton? Our first female blues harp player in the family? Or maybe they'll just drive their mothers insane?! Bwahahahaha!

Day 200 - Sis
Going to spend part of a fun Saturday cleaning and cleaning out the refrigerator. No that doesn't mean I'm going to consume everything in it!

Day 198 - Sis
I love watermelon anytime of the year but summer just makes it that much sweeter. Looking at the beautiful, glistening, red fruit makes you feel cooler and happy! It also served as cheap entertainment when we would see who could spit the seeds the farthest. In our family it's also known as yuckum. No it isn't one of our Mutsun tribal words, it's a word my parents first heard from my baby sister's vocabulary. While shopping at a local fruit stand one day my father asked my sister, "Baby what do you want?" She was around two and she responded, "Yuckum Daddy!" He had to take her around the many vegetables and fruit until they stood in front of a box of watermelons and she identified yuckum.
Day 198 - Lisa
One of my best friend's son is off to DC on a scouting trip. I so hope he enjoys it as much as we did. It put me in a reflective mood this morning about our vacation in April. Here's probably one of my favorite spots we discovered during those awesome 9 days; Signers Island on the National Mall. The views were spectacular as was the tranquilty of this quiet spot a midst all the Spring Break activity that Easter Sunday.

Day 197 - Sis
First primary election vote here in Georgia. Wasn't as well informed as I would have liked to have been so don't know what damage I have done!
Day 197 - Lisa
I have this icon at the bottom of my work emails under my name and contact info with the tag line; "Please consider the environment before printing this email." It's pretty common thing to see now a days. I had an outside vendor tell me they really hate when people shove their political viewpoints down their throats via email, especially work email. LOL Alrighty! Have a nice day to you too. Maybe you should recycle your ATTITUDE!

Day 196 - Sis
Made me want to start singing, "See'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes" but sure my daughter would have stopped me!

Day 192 - Sis
I remember as a child these were a penny a piece and now they are 15 cents each. They bring back a memory of a lady in my childhood neighborhood. Mrs.Reese and her mother, who we called Grandma, had turned her garage into a little store where she sold candy and few other items. We would search and find empty soda bottles to cash in at the larger stores. Sometimes we each got a nickel and we would hurry to splurge it on our visit to her place. As soon as you walked in you were standing in front of a glass case filled with a variety of candies, some were even two for a penny. It was a glorious sight for us kids and time consuming for her as we made our choices. Wonderful times.

Day 191 - Sis
This is my ticket to vote in my first Georgia election. A privilege to all registered voters in this country. Whohoo give me my ballot!

Day 190 - Sis
When I was a kid there was an old scale like this one in a drugstore where I could hop up on it, put in a penny and get my weight. Today even if I could hop up on it, the cost would be much more than a penny for the damages I would cause!
Day 190 - Lisa
A cool store recently flooded us with memories of our simple toys growing up. And that reminded me of "Klackers" and the Tops that had a urethane wheel as the tip, you'd rub it on the ground, getting it going and then put it on it's tip. The top would take off, skipping on the ground. These were fun but soon would get kind of boring. THAT was until we discovered these were lethal weapons if we stuck them in each others hair, especially who ever we were mad at. The top would grab hold of the hair and wind it up in a tangled ball. I'm pretty sure that was the summer most of us girl cousins ended up with pixie hair cuts and black eyes. LOL! We also beat each others brains out with the Klackers.

Day 189 - Sis
Recently my daughter discarded a jacket she wore forever and now it's my turn. I have loved these pjs, originally green in color, for years because the print was all dogs. The material became threadbare and I would wear them in summer but they have gone beyond threadbare to skin baring! A sad goodbye.

This old historic house is for sale in a neighboring town. I'd love an old place like this but my pocketbook doesn't.
