My mom (Sis) and I (Lisa) have challenged ourselves to each take a picture a day in 2010 starting January 4th. We will write journal style what inspires us to take the shots we do each day; along with anything else on our minds throughout the year. We are recently relocated from Northern California to the Atlanta, GA area. We hope you find our project interesting and maybe a bit entertaining. ;>

Day 147 - Sis
All the latest rain and thunder thunderstorms here lately have brought us many vibrant colors in our own little part of Georgia.

Day 146 - Lisa
So far we have collected with our Coke Reward points: 3 pairs of Coke flip flops, a weekend at the Asilomar in Monterey, a key chain and movie tickets. All this proves is we drink way way way too much Coke. ;> Although in fairness to us we did have a Coke machine in the backyard that all our friends and family enjoyed.

Thankfully mom scored some good drugs today. She needs them because our fruit and veggies are stacking up.

Day 6 - well the progress is she's not sitting here, she's actually up, albeit slow, stiff and only for about 5 minutes.

Day 140 - Sis
I'm posting for my mom, she's in too much pain to do so herself. This has been her best friend for the last several days.

Day 139 - Lisa
After many attempts I finally conquered replicating a good ole fashion just greasy enough steak sandwich from Cecil's in Hayward. My old neighborhood peeps will understand. ;>

Day 137 - Sis
You know when you go to an event, or play like us last night and afterwards you go into the bathroom where it's buzzing with excited conversations? I heard peeing.

Day 137 - Lisa
On a main street in our little town there is an overpass that has these blue lights on both sides. There is no explanation for them. Why they exist is a mystery but every time I pass them at night for some odd and strange reason I think of Fantasmic and want to break out in a little Mickey Sorcerer dance.

Day 136 - Sis
I love fresh flowers and just as happy as Lisa when she received them last week. Then they started to fade and turn brown so I saved as many as possible and we still have this pretty bouquet.
Day 136 - Lisa
My mom bought this magnet and placed it on the freezer door. I get a good laugh every time I go to open the door. LOL!

Day 135 - Sis
While my cousins (Lisa's Godparents) visited between Christmas and New Years a conversation lead me to tell about the results of some eggs I had boiled. I boiled the eggs sort of, well okay, forgot about them long enough for all the water to evaporate and they exploded. Burnt pot and egg bits covering a good part of the kitchen was the outcome. I'm never sure just how long to let them go and my timing was a bit off that day. My cousin told me she uses an egg boiler in the microwave and they are always perfect. Today this gift from them was a surprise in the mail. Wish me luck!

Day 133 - Sis
I love my little camera but hate to read all the information, so when I accidentally hit a wrong button and throw the settings out of whack I have to dig out the booklets!

Day 132 - Sis
Dry whole wheat bread does not go to waste. Use it in recipes or to feed the birds outside the front window.

Day 131 - Lisa
Mom bought sunii a new toy today. sunii only has about 15 toys now. And like most all kids growing up her favorites are not the catnip filled mice, the light up ball or the stick with the dangle stuff on the end. Nope, it's the cardboard box with holes in it, the wadded up plastic bag. You know aka the pots, pans & tupperware for toddlers. She thinks sunii is not as active as my other cats were; Nicia who only moved to stalk someone coming up or down her stairs, scare Simba or hang from Sammy's jowls. Ozzie who only liked to prowl at night otherwise he was a 14lb lap dog. Or Pita who would climb on your back while you were down on your knees gardening, painting wallboards or just about anything else, curl up and go to sleep. ;>

Day 130 - Sis
On my way to my doctor appointment today put the garbage in the back of Lisa's truck, so we could dump it and it was pretty ripe smelling. As we drove up to the garbage dump "gazebo" one of the maintenance guys was freshing up the look of the area with grey paint. That's nice but this prevented us from ridding the truck of the bag. Time concerns prevented us from going back to the apartment. It took us 45 minutes to get to my destination and about an hour before I was done. Mind you, Lisa is waiting in the vehicle with windows down, in 87% weather and humid. Then we decided since we were in the area where an Olive Garden was, dinner seemed to be a good idea. After Olive Garden we made a stop at the Hobby Lobby store, close by, followed by a stop for fuel. Now 4 hours later, what can I say, the bag is reeking and probably pulsating. We pull into our complex and can't believe Lisa was heading for the gate instead of the "gazebo"! Think her olfactory sense was beyond damaged. Garbage was dumped but don't know how long that aroma will be in the interior of truck.

Day 128 - Sis
Received a package from my baby sister Roberta today, no reason. This is a sweatshirt from my hometown high school. As a freshman because Hayward had only one high school we had to be bussed to Arroyo High in San Lorenzo. As a sophomore they built Tennyson, Hayward's second high school and we only lived about 5 blocks from it. As a junior I moved in with my grandparents and finally was able to attend the most beautiful high school, old Hayward High. It sat on a knoll and the buildings were beautiful, painted white and with lonic columns. It opened in 1893 and closed in 1962 when it was leveled for the Plaza Center Tower to be built. Go Farmers!
Day 128 - Lisa
A very nice surprise when I got home. Flowers telling me to keep my head up from someone who knows my challenge. The bigger surprise for both of us is two florists sent the same order of flowers. LOL They are both really pretty.

Love this particular picture of the Lady, just wish she could have sent a little more out of her account!

Day 126 - Lisa
Totally made a really crappy day GREAT when I came home and opened my mail. Thank you notes from the students of the class I sponsored. I was able to provide these kids colored markers and journals so they could express themselves by drawing and writing. This is a wonderful organization. I'm so happy for these kids. Please go to DonorsChoose.org and help our teachers out!

Whoops, I forgot to retrack my claws this morning, mom had to get a new bed for Mother's Day.
Here she comes I better get out of here...

Day 125 - Sis
First item I have for my trip to New Orleans in June. A new tag, hoping it will help me recognize my suitcase as it goes round and round on the baggage claim conveyor.
