Day 361 - Sis

Completed! We did it and had a great time most days finding a picture that reflected our mood, surroundings or personal insights. Thank you for those who viewed this blog and hope some pictures made your day a little more fun or informative. As you see "my team" took the World Series in 2010 and that was just one of the highlights of my year. Trips that provided opportunities for pictures; mundane things we saw and shot that we found a bit off kilter, funny or just interesting. A little camera provided so much more to our past 361 days.

Day 361 - Lisa

We did it!  Today is our last posting to complete 361 days of pictures.  I wasn't sure we'd actually make it to the end.  If you viewed any of our blog I hope we some times made you laugh or see things a bit differently.  We had a lot of fun and a lot of frustration.  Much harder challenge than I envisioned it to be.  I'm however grateful we took it on because I'm not sure our vacations would have been the same had we not.  I cannot speak for my mom but for me it caused me to slow down while traveling.  I took more time to enjoy what I was seeing; to look for the peculiar, to find an interesting view, be more curious and find the shades and colors that captured where I was and how it felt.  Thanks for doing this with me in 2010 Mom.  Can't wait to get out and capture 2011 through the lens!

So how did I spend my last day of this digital challenge?  Some place beautiful?  Exotic?  Enticing?  No, I spent it fretting over the damages of a "check engine" light.  ;>  Most days were just normal, every day occurences.  And that was kind of cool too!

Day 360 - Lisa

I stirred clear of all ailments throughout inventory and the holiday rush but it finally caught up with me today.  Nasty head cold! I sure could have used this teapot from our trip in NYC!  Wish I could have put this pot in my bag.  It was the best thing about that particular restaurant.

Day 360 - Sis

This is the airport in Atlanta where I started many journeys this year. Although it is not the State I would rather live in, it does provide for easier and shorter travels to places I've never been. I'm grateful for the travel opportunities in the past year and hope to see this sign even more often in the New Year approaching.

Day 359 - Lisa

Probably should have been offended by this when viewed in NOLA gift shop but instead laughed hysterically.  LOL!

Day 359 - Sis

Home two days and already thinking-------------------

Day 358 - Sis

Gingerbread houses displayed in the Marriott Hotel lobby. We were waiting there for our bus tour. Our very long bus tour to different parts of the city with only one, hop off/hop on, stop when we started the journey.

Day 358 - Lisa

Last morning in New Orleans.  So sad to have to leave.  Another amazing trip to the Big Easy.

Day 357 - Sis

Stair way to heaven? Nope, restroom. Might be better to hold it!

Day 357 - Lisa

Getting their Mardi Gras costumes on with the King!  We had a lot of fun at Mardi Gras world.  Fascinating to learn about this tradition.

Day 356 - Sis

Fleu de-lis, de-leu, de-lys, no matter how you spell it, New Orleans comes to my mind. It has different spellings and different colors. The transalation means, lily flower. If the color is gold it represents generosity and elevation of the mind. The elevation of mind or lost of mind may come from some of the libations that are served at local establishments. Ooooh Wheee!

Day 356 - Lisa

Would have loved to hear Lady Day in my lifetime but settled for the soulful Spiritualettes at the House Of Blues Gospel Brunch on this morning.

Day 355 - Sis

A shot looking across Jackson Square reminded me in some ways of a bit of Main Street at Disneyland; meaning entertaining, different modes of transportation, colorful, lots of smiling people. Referring to adult smiling people by the way.

Day 355 - Lisa

We went through the lobby of the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans on Christmas Day - stunning.

Day 354 - Sis

Day of our arrival it was reassuring to find the ATM machine nestled between the Christmas tree and exit door.

Day 354 - Lisa

Christmas Eve night in the French Quarter.  We rounded the corner and this sight took my breath away.

Day 353 - Lisa

sunii all gussied up for her Tia Chickie's arrival tonight.

Day 353 - Sis

Come Friday night hoping this isn't the drink of choice for the three of us!

Day 352 - Lisa

Tribal Christmas greeting I published for 2010.

Day 352 - Sis

It was suggested to me that maybe adding food coloring this year would make the cookies more festive looking. I think it looks more like leftovers from Lady Gaga's dress.

Day 351 - Lisa

Enjoy Boys!  I'm retiring after this year.  Lemon cake, Pistachio Cake, Fudge, Peanut Brittle & Oatmeal Macadamia Nut Cookies.

Day 351 - Sis

And tomorrow I can finish the last of it.

Day 350 - Lisa

Let the baking begin...

Day 350 - Sis

Is this a flower or a comment on her lack of hygiene?

Day 349 - Lisa

Fudge & Jazz:  doesn't get any sweeter!  Seeing the New Olreans Jazz Hall Band Creole Christmas show tonight @ the Atlanta Symphony Hall.  Take a listen http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=121617828

Day 349 - Sis

Glad we were able to enjoy a little New Orleans jazz before our trip starts in a few days. So good to hear and see these musicians. They brought a lot of joy to many people tonight.

Day 348 - Lisa

My first ever batch of Peanut Brittle.  I not fond of baking & candy making so consider this a victory.  I'd rather cook a huge meal!  I prefer a dash of this & pinch of that.  Baking requires precision & usually no garlic.  ;>

Day 348 - Sis

Sinus or a cold? Not sure but thought a nice yule log would make me feel better while I relaxed on the recliner and tried to breathe through at least one of my nostrils. Thanks ON DEMAND for providing this beautiful crackling fire. Doesn't matter if it didn't feature "smellovision" my sinuses or cold took care of that sense for me.

Day 347 - Lisa

I was a teeny bit shook up.

Day 347- Sis

There it was another interesting museum display I wasn't expecting. A machine that dispensed little balls of ice cream after you put money in it. I believe it was called DOTS but had nothing to do with the Department of Transportation, unless you're transported to another level after ingesting one.

Day 346 - Sis

Saw this Mardi Gras mask in the museum display and got happy, happy, happy, knowing I'll be there in New Orleans for Christmas! Who dat?

Day 346 - Lisa

We can see the Stone Mountain Christmas tree from our complex.

345 Day - Sis

Part of the Arab world items displayed at the Fernbank Museum was this beautiful, I believe abalone, plaque with the Lord's Prayer inscribed on it. Stunning piece of work.

Day 345 - Lisa

Hasn't been a fun couple days dealing with bad weather, especially the black ice.

Day 344 - Lisa

Not the best place to be sitting when you realize you are being spied on...

Day 344 - Sis

While having lunch at the Fernbank Museum I spotted these two guys. Don't know if they were suppose to be dancing or act excited about their live menu inside...................US!

Day 343 - Lisa

Look at my pretty mama with her first Christmas tree.  Be glad I never had kids, could you imagine?  LMAO!!!!

Day 343 - Sis

While at the Fernbank Museum in Atlanta I walked into a room and saw this display. I then saw beryl, a gem that's talked about frequently in the Bible when describing beautiful adornments, now I know why.

Day 342 - Lisa

Blue Poinsettas were brough to my attention because apparently they have them in New Orleans Square @ Disneyland this year. So I did some research.  All I have to say is NO, NO, NO!
