We finally caved and hired a taxi after the Letterman show. With the ride we, of course, engaged in conversation with the driver. Besides hearing his story of why he drives we were informed that a great percentage of NYC drivers of cabs don't know what they are doing or where they are going. All I know is there are a ton of cabs and they seem to run in packs.
