While visiting Centennial Park in Atlanta yesterday evening I realized the Coca Cola image was the city's North star for me.
My mom (Sis) and I (Lisa) have challenged ourselves to each take a picture a day in 2010 starting January 4th. We will write journal style what inspires us to take the shots we do each day; along with anything else on our minds throughout the year. We are recently relocated from Northern California to the Atlanta, GA area. We hope you find our project interesting and maybe a bit entertaining. ;>

Day 341- Sis
I, personally, think horses should only run around oval tracks, with hundreds of humans cheering them on, horseback riding or as farm animals. Do not think auto emissions and erratic drivers in a city, plus very cold or hot weather conditions are favorable for these beauties. That's my take, but realize some find that a city carriage ride is considered romantic for people. For you romantics let me give you a hint for a long, smooth, quiet ride; do not choose a ride pulled by any horse named Secretariat or Rachel Alexander!

Day 339 - Sis
Wonder if these really do look prettier outside the box? Maybe wrapped around the railing or around the front door, well we don't have a back door so guess that isn't an option.

Day 338 - Sis
Another sign that you're officially old. First Christmas card I received with a "wonderful" offer. Bah Humbug!
Day 338 - Lisa
I was so jealous of her this morning. I could tell she felt bad for me; she yawned, stretched, opened one eye and turned over as I walked by to go out the door to work. !!!

Day 337 - Sis
Woke up with an upset stomach so planned on making barley soup. Problem was have no barley but did have some leftover chicken. Yep, like I wrote, woke up with an upset stomach so planned on making chicken and rice soup!

Day 336 - Lisa
Coincidence? Omen? Chance? What could this mean? This morning my mom heard something fall from her room. She walked out and her eyes were drawn to the wall. Something was missing.
She looked down and found one of Jeff's snowmen amongst the plants.
It was a good laugh when she looked at #18!
Day 336 - Sis
Trying to spread the Christmas spirit and if I have enough drinks possibly could honor Papa Noel by wearing it on my head in New Orleans! ;-

Day 335 - Sis
Attention! All you winter southbound birds if Georgia is your final destination and you are looking for a free seasonal abode, we do have some vacancies here at the complex. They are a little on the small side and sparsely furnished, however they do offer a beautiful, clear, 360% view of the area. If this seems to be a perfect fit for your plans you might want to pack extra feathers and oil them for the brisk mornings and cool nights.
Day 335 - Lisa
Did a bit of Christmas decorating. Hung my friend Jeff Schinkel's "50 Snowmen." They are brilliant and make me smile everytime I glance over at them. ;> Some day when we have a house again, I'll have them all hung over my huge snowmen collection that is currently in storage. ;< Here's a picture of them all at our old house in Livermore.

Day 334 - Sis
It's been a long time since I've baked Chocolate Crinkles so thought I'd try to make a batch before Christmas rolled around. Looking through the oven window made me feel like I hadn't lost it. Opening the door seconded it and then doing a taste test confirmed it!
Day 334 - Lisa
I guess Catzilla prefers Santa. She's been hanging around her Grandma too much. I thought these very cool. Somebody's getting for Christmas. ;>

Day 333- Sis
These little acorns are in evidence here wherever you see a red oak tree. Use to seeing the liveoak acorns at home so these were a surprise to find. Funny to see and not hear the roundhouse drum, singing and dancing of our California tribes.
