Day 187 - Sis

Another wonder while in North Carolina. We pull into a four pump gas station where it's very busy and all pumps are being used; I'm sitting in the vehicle people watching. Out of the store comes a cashier who sits down and lights a cigarette no more than five feet away from where I'm at and I began to hear the time bomb ticking. Gulp, wonder how long he'll be working there?

Along side the roads in North Georgia and North Carolina these berries are growing wild. Remember when you could just stop to pick and eat fruit without worry of poisoning?

Have spent the week reconnecting with my family-Dad's side.  35+ years has gone by.  Below L to R:  Great Grandfather, Uncle, Grandfather & Dad.

Had this new berry drink, blue and strawberry, ummm and flatbread with cheese, tomato and herbs appetizer. Looked like mini pizzas, think Lisa tried to pull a fast one since I don't like pizza!

Must get back to the basics and lay off the Coke.  Harder said than done.

You just want lunch and it's one of those restaurants you find in a town that your average wage earner doesn't live. ;-\

Traveling doesn't kill me; the souvenirs do.  ;>  However, sunii appreciates the shopping.

Day 182 - Sis

We went for a ride to Cashiers North Carolina but first stopped at Tallulah Falls in the North Georgia Mountains. The draw is the 900 foot mountain gorge but the fun is in the General Store. That's where you can find these wonderful things to look at and appreciate.

Took a drive today into the North Georgia & North Carolina mountains.  Beautiful!  Found a cool General Store with old toys.  That was fun!

Cheers to us on reaching the halfway mark with our blog. Also cheers to our great country for a celebration of 234 years; it only seems that long to me at times when I've scampering for photo!

No big plans today, usually just stay home on 3 day weekends.  We'll eat our traditional 4th of July menu; chilaquiles, ham and potato salad.  Happy 6th Month Anniversary mom!   It's been fun, adventurous, frustrating at times, and down right hilarious doing the blog with you.  Now on to the last 6 months.  Peace to everyone on this 4th of July.

My prima Kellee is going to kill me.  She gave this to me for my birthday about three years ago.  I carry it around faithfully in my wallet.  I never seem to remember to spend it.  Maybe this year Kell.  LOL   PS:  I dig the reflection of my hands in the background.

Like George Clooney's "Up In the Air" role we too aspire to collect 7 million reward points, which will probably entitle us to a 12 pack of Coke.

This book is SO wrong and SO right all at the same time.  I laughed so hard in portions of it. Being we are close in age his tales of growing up with his brother and cousins reminded me such much of my childhood and our mischief and adventures.  There's a lot I don't agree with but the funny if funny.  My mom, sister and I love Denis Leary; he doesn't disappoint with this book.  It came out a few years ago but I just got around to reading it.  By the way if you've never seen the movie The Ref; rent it!

Rented four movies and this was the last before returning all by tomorrow. Tough to watch.
