Saturday morning University of Santa Cruz to attend our Amah Mutsun tribal council meeting. A mural of our people in pre-contact days. The university partners with our tribe in honoring our history and giving us the opportunity to enlighten others of our existence today.
My mom (Sis) and I (Lisa) have challenged ourselves to each take a picture a day in 2010 starting January 4th. We will write journal style what inspires us to take the shots we do each day; along with anything else on our minds throughout the year. We are recently relocated from Northern California to the Atlanta, GA area. We hope you find our project interesting and maybe a bit entertaining. ;>

Day 320 - Sis
Arrived at Atlanta airport at 5 pm and soon were told our 7 pm flight would be delayed due to weather. After two later departure times were posted one as late as 9 pm, we boarded at 7:35 after our plane actually got into the gate. Approaching San Francisco our landing was delayed because their 5:35 outgoing flight was still in the gate! After landing, gathering our luggage, finally picking up our rental car the vehicle's clock read this California time. Remember, we were on Georgia time.

Day 318 - Sis
On the road I spotted something thin, shiny black with metallic looking stripes. Thought it might be a piece of a belt but discovered this; actually a very beautiful snake. Guess it didn't listen to mama about using the crossing lane.
Day 318 - Lisa
I know I must be happy to be heading home, everything is looking like what's close to my heart. My mom made a Mutsun tule boat porkloin. ;>

Day 315 - Sis
Rainy weather means a dinner of homemade soup. Made Portuguese sopas which was a treat from my childhood days when my father would take us to a festival. This isn't the recipe I remember but close enough. Served from the pot and poured over the day old bread.

Day 314 - Lisa
I'm having fun being my cousin Kellee's daughter, Secret Pal. I knocked this out over the weekend to send her. She thinks I'm Mickey Mouse or Snow White. ;>

Day 313 - Lisa
We having these 3-eyed spiders that can seriously jump. My mom and I are certain they love to munch on us. So I did some investigative research on the interNETS. I'm sorry it's not 3-eyed, it's 4-eyed!
Day 313 - Sis
These pipes look like mutant Slinkys a toy that was invented in 1945 and is still sold today. It doesn't shoot, or blow up anything but it continues to be successful, amazingly simple and entertaining.

Day 312 - Lisa
Had no clue it would be "trees" today. I caught this picture on my way to work. Love the reds and brilliant sun shining through.
Day 312 - Sis
Looking out our window at these trees makes me feel like I'm experiencing two different seasons. The beautiful color of orange for Fall and the green leaves and red berries of Winter.

Day 310 - Sis
Ugh, speaking of garbage, I really have to go through this stuff that has piled up over my past two weeks of sports watching!

Day 309 - Sis
My outing today consists of dumping garbage and collecting the mail. The disposal reminded me of the day in New York City when I encountered the NYC, waste removal(?), sanitation dept.(?) tree trimmer(?), employee on the job. There he was doing his work in front of a high-end apartment building with his well-worn NY Yankees hat and NY accent on. I ask him, "Hey can I get a picture of you?". He asks right back, " Cause all New Yo-kas look alike?" "Oh no you don't, that's why I want your picture!" Smiles on both of our faces.

Day 308 - Sis
Okay got through all the viewing of every game now it's catching up on the reading about the games! Pssst, if you haven't heard, read or watched, S.F. Giants won the World Series last Monday. :-))

Day 307 - Sis
Winter's here and this is the beverage that takes the chill off. Unlike my daugher I prefer my coffee straight up.

Day 306 - Lisa
I am happy that my cat sunii is comfortable with me but this might be a tad too comfortable. I woke up to kitty feet in my face this morning. No wonder I cough. Yep, cooler temps are upon us.
Day 306 - Sis
A run to Dunkin Donuts at 10:15 p.m. didn't leave many choices. As these are not my favorites, think next time I'll tag along when my daughter drives there.

Day 305 - Sis
Blueberry muffin mix ready, go to the cupboard to get cup liners. Go to the cupboard to get cup liner! Go to the other cupboard and get aluminum foil. Cup liners -- old school. ;-)
Day 305 - Lisa
Finished my Christmas cards for the LP exchange. It's suppose to have a "Disney" theme, so I chose New Orleans. ;>
Day 304 - Sis
Finally found a really good Chinese restaurant here but don't know about message in my fortune cookie. My talents in this field? Lost a lot of faith in Asian wisdom, sigh.

Day 303 -Sis
Waiting to watch THE parade and the goodies keep on coming. Thanks to my sister Chickie for the provisions today!
Day 303 - Lisa
Came home early from work to watch the parade. It was wonderful. City looked beautiful. Wish I could have been there but even so I'm still on Cloud Nine. World Champions?! Pinch me!

Day 302 - Lisa
2010 WORLD CHAMPION SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS! I'm too stunned for words. Yes, the odds were good they'd win but when it happen, I was just overwhelmed with emotion. My FB was burning up, my phone vibrated off the table but I couldn't repond. I needed to soak up everything happening on the TV. Watch the player interviews, view and experience the emotion. Sweet, so very sweet. Can't wait to get home and celebrate together with my mom and sister. It won't be completely real until we three are together. All the years at freezing cold Candlestick with only us and a thousand other fans. The night we stayed till 3am in the morning to watch 17 innings of Giants over the Reds. All the Croix de Candlesticks earned. My sister @ 7 years old refusing Don Suttons autograph cause he was a DODGER! The Orange Crush Little Giants, the Vacation nights, the play-offs against St. Louis. The earthquake World Series. My mom being the KSFO Fan of the Night. Clarks first homer off Nolan Ryan as we rushed for our seats on one of our many moms and daughters Opening Days. The three game series with Brian Johnson homer against the Dodgers. The Mike Ivie grand slams! Hackman, one flap down! Gotta Love These Kids when we first witnessed the Robby, Uribe, Clark, Williams infield. The heartbreak of 2002. The Fan Fairs, my devotion to #22 for Jack Clark to this day my lucky number. Too many memories. Our chevy station wagon packed with 3 sisters, and all their kids and their kids friends - I believe our record was 16 in that sherman tank. Sweet, so very sweet!
Day 302 - Sis
One of my most treasured possession. 1958, Willie Mays in the first Giants downtown San Francisco parade and tomorrow the second San Francisco parade will surely find him in one of the cars celebrating with the 2010 World Series Champs! A long wait for so many of us and it was worth every year of cheering, freezing at Candlestick, listening on the radio, watching on tv, defending the lousy and the great teams of our hearts. Thanks to my brother Frank, who brought me to this team, wish you could have lived to share this time.
