Day 259 - Sis

Always nice to see favorite things from home. So many games at the Stick over the years. Good game but may have needed more Gore!

Day 258 - Sis

Time to do maintenance on the vacuum cleaner. Should make a big difference tomorrow if I get it back together correctly. One positive, no leftovers screws!

Day 258 - Lisa

Relived 2009 today.  Ugh!  Two years of living on the road took it's toll; I had to file a tax extension.  Approaching my deadline so I had to stop and get about 400 receipts all in order.  Thank God for Excel.

Day 257 - Lisa

Had to hit up the Target .99cent travel bins today.  And I found the "perfect" purse.  Pockets on the outside for my phone and camera with a long enough strap to go over the body.  As I hate wearing a purse on my shoulder. I can't believe I just posted about girlie girl shopping.  ;>

Day 257 - Sis

Yep, Lisa's truck and me need facelifts!

Day 256 - Sis

I am now sunii's catnip connection and she comes to me every evening mewing for her fix. Jimmy Hendrix had his Purple Haze and sunii has her Grey Haze. Dude!

Day 256 - Lisa

Oh goody!  I get to color!

Day 255 - Sis

Pretty embroidery thread colors. Which one did I use to tie the stuffed pork loin roast? Kind of thin though so had to be very careful while eating it and not swallow the thread. Have to remember to buy the correct string for next one.

Day 255 - Lisa

You know I used to only wear Chanel 22.  I was young and thought I needed to be like CoCo.  Now? Righhhhhhhhhhhhhhht!  Wal-Mart's Bodycology is what I roll with now.  $2 bucks; sniff me, get a whiff of me, I don't care!

Day 254 - Sis

Can't they make these blinds dust and cat proof?

Day 254 - Lisa

I found these cool tote bags at Office Max for $1!  I thought they'd come in handy while out "shopping" in NYC.  The tote folds up and fits in that little tiny bag.

Day 253 - Lisa

Um, they are going to come back and finish painting our apartment door aren't they?  Aren't they?  Nooooo, they wouldn't leave it this way, would they?!

Day 253 - Sis

Had a required walk this morning for these essentials. This is my vast techie needs purchased at the local office supply store.

Day 252 - Lisa

Got some cool cards in the mail this week.  Quite the contrast!

Day 252 - Sis

Walking toward my bedroom last night barefooted and I noticed a very wet spot on the rug. First thought was to blame sunii but after using a paper towel realized there wasn't an odor, sorry sunii. Lisa sent a message to the office but it's closed after 6 p.m. so I called this a.m. Maintenance was here directly and found that the air conditioner line was clogged and fixed that. Then informed me they would call the rug company out to get the rug dried. So now we have this blower running until Wednesday.

Day 251 - Lisa

Getting all my reservations & tickets in order for NYC!
Ah, much better!

Day 251 - Sis

Time to check the coupon expiration date so I can use the current ones tomorrow while shopping. They're to save money but cause me to spend more because I buy things I would never try. The temptation is too strong for me to fight!

Day 250 - Lisa

I want to GO everywhere!  NOW!    This picture in Baja, CA of the California Gray whale took my breath away!

Day 250 - Sis

Changing it up, leaving fiction and returning to non-fiction. David Halberstam was a wonderful journalist/historian. He wrote, The Best and the Brightest, and the subject was the Vietnam war. I read it years ago. Now I'm going to read his story of the Korean War because there was and has been controversy about this action for years.

Day 249 - Lisa

Remember when remotes were as big as a shoe?  And the only way to transfer files was on a floppy?

Day 249 - Sis

A long, long time ago in a faraway land called California, I had one of these, but a very mean, mean, economy made me put it into a building called storage. I look forward to the day it will be returned to me and I will once again luxuriate on it, as it was always so supportive of me.

Day 248 - Lisa

Are you ready for some football?  Yes!  Are you ready for some cooler weather?  Yes!

Day 248 - Sis

It's that time of the year, baseball ending, football starting. Football is about money, baseball on the other hand is about my love of the game. Go Giants and 49ers!

Wednesday, September 08, 2010

Day 247 - Lisa

After long days staring at a computer screen why do I pick hobbies that cause me more research and number crunching?  Cause I'm sick, a sicko, a sports-aholic!  Three football pools.  And it's September now Baseball play-offs right around the corner!!

Day 247 - Sis

Well I made dessert last night, peanut butter cookies. I get the dough all mixed and realize I'm missing cookie sheets because the ones we had were rusted. Lisa when moving here and thinking we only had to get through for a short time before investing in a home, (Ha!), bought the throw away priced ones. We do however have a round perforated pizza pan, aha, cut out some parchment paper, cover and we're good to go. Results we're ummm, ummm, good. ;-)

Day 246 - Lisa

Uh oh, this is never good.  Mom is sorting magazines which means a big fat really delicious dessert will soon be happening.  So much for "eating well."  LOL  I love her and hate her.

Day 246 - Sis

Did some shopping today. Ah, no shipping charges and no makeup required!

Day 245 - Lisa

This cures the carbonation cravings!

Day 245 - Sis

Loved this pear tree sculpure at he botanical garden.

Sunday, September 05, 2010

Day 244 - Sis

Always thought being led down the garden path would be more exotic and exciting.

Day 244 - Lisa

Wasn't a real exciting or eventful weekend round here.  All I got is the cat on her scratching board shrine.

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Day 243 - Lisa

Spent my day printing up packets.

Day 243 - Sis

Found this large nail in the street and wondered how big is the muscle, in the arm, that hammers it in to something!

Day 242 - Lisa

So an "Engineer" gets a Coke from vending machine and I guess the Coke got thrown around before loaded into the vending machine.  It was bubbled at the bottom and wouldn't stand up straight.  It was kind of weeble wobbling if you tried to set it on a desk or table.  This "really" threw the said person for a loop and caused quite the upset in how would they drink this while working?!  So rather than put their skill set to use it was easier to complain to me.  You know "give it to Lisa, she can fix anything."

I listened...
I observed...
I looked around at my desk for options...
I waved my magical wand...
Here ya go, stop you're belly aching and go design something !

Day 242 - Sis

I like gazebos.

Day 241 - Sis

Well where was sunii the warrior when I destroyed 3 of these creatures in one night and used a half a can of Raid? Don't know if they are just part of the Georgia summer or the hammering workers that bring them in but they are nasty. My weapon for hunting and slaying left my bedroom in a fog so had to sleep on the couch, that means those bugs also make me cranky.

Day 241 - Lisa

Not sure if the leaves are turning color because it's almost Fall or because they are baking from the still 90+ degree weather!

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Day 240 - Lisa

sunii, the Warrior Kitty strikes again.  I appreciate her protecting us but this is so GROSS!  Kitties like to give their loved ones gifts.  I really didn't need this next to by bed side this morning.  LOL

Day 240 - Sis

I'm thinking of filing a lawsuit against jigsaw puzzle manufacturers for mental stress and failure to pack a complete product. The monetary value of such suit would be an equitable amount of $.07, plus all attorney fees and court costs, because in the past year at least five of the puzzles, I've "almost" completed, have had one or two missing pieces.
